Backstory (pt.1)
Dates are important in a backstory. In 2009 I decided to accelerate my need to hang out with talented people, specifically musicians.
In 2010 the first Bleeding Heart Recordings record was released thanks to the skills and planning of the band The Robot Heart and the organisation and financial backing of ROM.
At that time the music industry was still working out how to fully monetise music in the age of the mp3. This meant that risk taking and artist development was going to be greatly reduced.
BHR needed to be about art. Release that music that didn’t quite fit into the contemporary conditioned parameters.
